10 Grand Street

This is a small apartment renovation completed by Maine Design+Builds construction team. The building was super insulated and updated with modern materials.

These types of small residencies offer unique opportunities for powerful design elements. The central axis of this space becomes the circulation and as view are cut off by sharp corners, walking through these spaces allows a shift in scale, lighting, materials and perceived separation of spaces.

The exposed brick combined with the collage of appliances and fixtures offers an atypical material composition giving the spaces some texture.
