Readfield Lake House
Built within a grandfathered footprint on a site where setbacks would allow no possible structures, the proposed camp brings the building into further compliance by pulling back from lake towards the road. By selecting a point on the steep site that is more shallow, a planar form is able to be built and project out, elevating keys views of Maranacook Lake, increasing western surface area, and pulling the building up from the water edge.
These choices dramatically increase the natural light accessible to the residents, better conform to guidelines and regulations of the jurisdiction, and optimize the space available within the footprint.
