SIMPLE | MODERN | EFFICIENT

        The final proposal features a building with 30 housing units across three floors. There are two sperate room types (a one bed & two bed), that have each been mirrored and flipped layouts, allowing six unit variations. Additionally, each unit has access to an exterior balcony. The choice of cladding colors is in contract to typical practice of the typology, which often boasting colorful panel system that may seem out of place in their context. This design opts for a more sleek modern approach with dark colored lapped siding (of the surrounding context) against bands of warm exposed grain wood, that not only reflect the landscape and Maines resources, but provides a stark pop and break in an otherwise monochromatic tone.
